Wallowa-Whitman National Forest is planning Prescribed fires in the following locations this week:
La Grande Ranger District:
• The La Grande Ranger district will continue burning in the same Limber Jim area with 300 acres targeted for the week. This is approximately 12 miles SW of LaGrande, north of the Grand Ronde River near Limber Jim Ridge.
Wallowa Ranger District:
• The Wallowa Ranger District is burning 2 units in the Starvation Project area towards the end of the week (approximately 10 miles north of Enterprise along the Lewiston Highway).
Whitman Ranger District:
• The Whitman Ranger District is planning on burning approximately 1400 acres in multiple units surrounding the Sumpter area.
Smoke and flames may be visible, and caution is advised when passing through the area.
